How I work

What to expect

I.

Initial consultation

We start with a short conversation, in person, by phone or online, to understand the situation, agree the scope of the matter and clarify your objectives. I then review the relevant documents.

II.

Fee proposal

Having reviewed the documents, I send you a fee proposal by e-mail (hourly, fixed, percentage-based or, where the matter calls for it, a bespoke arrangement), and we agree the terms of the engagement.

III.

Working on your matter

Once you accept the proposal, I prepare the necessary documents and filings, represent you throughout, and keep you informed of every significant development.

Who I am

Dr. Alex KEMÉNY

I graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) and began my career as a junior associate at a well-established city-centre law firm in Budapest with a broad client base. There I focused mainly on real estate, construction, company and corporate matters, while also gaining experience across many other areas of civil law, from contract law and debt collection to insolvency.

During this time I obtained an LL.M. in labour law at the University of Pécs, and labour law became one of my core areas of expertise. I passed the Hungarian bar examination in 2025 and have run my own practice since the end of 2025.

FAQ

Before you call

How much does the first consultation cost?

The initial consultation is free for up to 30 minutes. That is usually enough to get an overview of your situation and see how I can help.

Can we meet online?

Yes. We can talk by phone or video call, and you can send me the documents by e-mail.

What should I bring to the initial consultation?

Anything relevant to your matter: contracts, correspondence, official decisions, title deeds. If in doubt, bring it along and we will go through it together.

How long does it take to prepare a contract?

A simpler contract is typically ready within a few business days; for more complex matters, we agree the timeline in advance.

Do you only work with clients in Budapest?

My office is in Budapest, but most matters can be handled remotely, so you are welcome to contact me from anywhere in Hungary or abroad.
